What is Padel?
Padel is a sport which combines action with social interaction. It’s a great sport for players of all ages and skills, as it is both quick and easy to pick up. Most players get the basics within the first half an hour of playing so that they can enjoy the game. Padel is not as dominated by strength, technique and serve as in Tennis/Squash and therefore is an ideal game for men, women and youth to compete together. An important skill is match-craft, as points are won rather by strategy than by sheer strength and power.
The Padel Court
Padel, a fusion of Tennis and Squash, typically involves doubles matches within enclosed courts bordered by glass and metallic mesh. With a court size one-third that of tennis, it encourages inclusivity across age groups and fitness levels. The ball is allowed to rebound off any wall but must only touch the ground once before being returned. Scoring occurs when the ball bounces twice within the opponent’s area.
Padel Racquet and Ball
It’s a fast-to-grasp and enjoyable game, creating an addictive sporting experience. Employing a small, stringless Padel racket and a low-compression tennis ball, the underarm service is a key feature. Players hit shots before or after the ball rebounds off the glass walls, offering a distinctive aspect compared to traditional tennis. Scoring
The scoring and rules are very similar to Tennis, with the biggest difference being that the serve in Padel is underarm and that balls can be played off the glass walls in a similar way to Squash. The rules allow for the use of the back and sidewalls, which results in longer rallies than a conventional tennis match. Points are won rather by strategy than by strength and power.

Our viewing platform is a perfect spot for spectating and enjoying the clubs hospitality, whilst supporting friends and family as they dual it out for top honors!

You don’t require any special clothing, normal closed trainers will suffice.
